Web Accessibility Standards

In addition to federal regulations, we are actively working to conform to the W3C WAI’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1, Level AA conformance, or updated equivalents of these guidelines. Kent ISD is taking several steps to make our websites more accessible to people with disabilities. We currently utilize Monsido, a service that routinely scans our websites for the purpose of identifying noncompliant elements that need to be addressed. Our website content managers have attended training on web accessibility and our designated Web Accessibility Manager conducts regular audits of our websites to ensure standards are maintained.

Third-Party Content

Please note that some pages on the Kent ISD website contain links to third-party sites. Kent ISD is not responsible for the Online Content or accessibility of third party sites which are featured only as additional resources and are not essential to the function of Kent ISD programs, services and activities. Where third-party content or features are included as essential pieces, such as YouTube videos about our programs or forms for access to essential services, we are committed to insuring that the information in the content is equally accessible to all users through closed captioning, alternative text for visual elements or other methods as necessary.

Kent ISD is committed to working with digital providers whose online content conforms minimally to our own standards and guidelines.
