Teaching & Learning

We Lead Learning

Teaching and Learning is the heart of education, where learner and teacher come together to build the knowledge, skills and attitudes that shape individuals and entire communities. One of the best known services of Kent Intermediate School District is our extensive professional development.

Our goal is to lead learning by providing districts with up to date research based information. We have a variety of Teaching and Learning services available to assist you with curriculum implementation. We provide trainings onsite at Kent ISD as well as the building and district level. We offer many professional development opportunities including:

  • Common Core State Standard Implementation
  • Professional Learning Community Development
  • Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment Support
  • Differentiated Instruction/UDL/PBL
  • Research Based Instructional Strategies

Support for Implementation of Continuity Learning Plans

The consultants at Kent ISD are combining efforts to provide supports to districts as they begin to implement their Remote Learning plans.  The Kent ISD Remote Learning Implementation Support Team (RLIS team) will offer support to districts in implementing the components of their Continuity of Learning Plan.  This support will be provided in the following ways:

  • Collaborate with district staff - listening, mentoring, checking in
  • Connect with district staff to navigate resources and supports
  • Problem Solve and assist with removing barriers

We Are All In This Together!  Districts are faced with many challenges during these final months of the school year and we hope that our Remote Learning Implementation Support Teams can help provide a listening ear, a brainstorm partner, and a resource navigator.
