Enrollment Open Now for Tuition-Free PreK for 4-Year-Olds

Great Start Readiness Program hosts PreK – Here I Come! Open Houses

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Kent ISD Great Start Readiness Program (GSRP) is enrolling now for fall for high-quality, tuition-free PreK for all families of children who turn 4 by December 1. GSRP is the nation’s number 1 ranked preschool program.

“Enrollment in high-quality, tuition-free PreK is one of the best ways to prepare children for success in school and life,” said Ashley Karsten, Director of Early Childhood at Kent ISD. “We are excited to be able to offer Great Start Readiness Program PreK to even more families next year!”

All families qualify for tuition-free PreK for their 4-year-olds as part of Michigan’s PreK for All initiative. Enrollment for next school year is open now and continues as long as spots in classrooms are available.

PreK - Here I Come! Open House events are happening February 26 from 4:15 – 5:45 p.m. and February 27 from 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. at locations across Kent County and in the Thornapple-Kellogg school district area. Some locations are open both days and others are open one day only. Find all the locations and details on the “PreK - Here I Come!” page on Kent ISD’s website

Families can enroll their 4-year-old children in full-day preschool classrooms throughout the area. There are many openings in Kent ISD public, private and charter school districts, community-based organizations such as YMCA, and in childcare centers such as Appletree and Milestones.
