Sexting and Sextortion
Sexting and Sextortion
For all of us, safety and security are top concerns for our students, including keeping them safe from Sexting and Sextortion. Some definitions:
Sexting: Sending, receiving, or sharing sexually explicit messages, photos, or videos.
Sextortion: A form of blackmail in which someone threatens to share a person’s private or sexual images unless they do what the person demands.
To help communicate what these security concerns are, how to avoid them, and what to do if you become a victim, we created two videos that can be shared with students. Each features School Resource Officers from Comstock Park and East Kentwood and student actors from Comstock Park High.
This third video is for parents who want to help their teens understand and avoid these safety concerns.
