Evaluation & Eligibility Guidelines

We have created an Evaluation & Eligibility Manual to provide Kent ISD special educators specific guidance on conducting evaluations and reevaluations for special education eligibility that comply with the Michigan Administrative Rules for Special Education and the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA). Under IDEA, Child Find is the legal requirement that schools find all children who have disabilities and who may be entitled to special education services. In Michigan, children from birth to age 26 are covered by Child Find.
