Medicaid for Educators

Medicaid for Educators

The Michigan School Services Program (SSP) helps participating school districts obtain federal Medicaid reimbursement for eligible health-related services provided to Medicaid-eligible students. These reimbursements help support school health services and offset a portion of the costs associated with delivering medically necessary services in schools.

Through the efforts of educators, service providers, and support staff across Kent ISD and its local districts, the School Services Program generates more than $10 million in Medicaid reimbursement each year.

To support staff participating in the program, Kent ISD has developed the Michigan School Services Program Guide for Staff Documentation. This guide provides an overview of the School Services Program, outlines documentation requirements, and serves as a resource for both new and experienced staff responsible for documenting eligible services.
