Kent ISD DHH programs receive grants
The Kent ISD Deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) programs have been awarded two competitive grants to help strengthen services for students.
The Carls Foundation of Bloomfield Hills is providing $90,000 to purchase updated audiology equipment and the Michigan Department of Education and LEAD-K (Language Equality and Acquisition for Deaf Kids Michigan) is providing $80,000 to support a professional development series for educators, families and others in the DHH community. The trainings will focus on best practices for Listening and Spoken Language (LSL) and American Sign Language (ASL).
