Thornapple Kellogg Board Member Joins Kent ISD School Board

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. – Thornapple Kellogg Board of Education board member Anne Hamming was chosen to replace longtime member Claudia Bajema on the Kent ISD school board.  Bajema served on the board since 2005, most recently as secretary, and did not seek reelection as her term came to an end. Board President Andrea Haidle sought and won reelection to the board.

Hamming was selected and Haidle was reelected during a special meeting of the board on June 5. Hamming will take her seat as a board member on July 1 and will attend her first regular Kent ISD board meeting at on July 24 to begin her six-year term.

“We are grateful to Claudia for her service on the board and her many years of dedication to education, students, teachers and our community,” said Kent ISD Superintendent Ron Koehler. “Our board welcomes Anne and the return of Andrea, and we are looking forward to having them join us in the important work ahead.”

Hamming is longtime member of the Thornapple Kellogg School Board where she has served as president and secretary. She also serves as president of the Kent Intermediate Association of School Boards and was appointed by the governor to serve on the Michigan Public School Employee Retirement System Board.
