Ron Gorman Selected as Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services

Dr. Ron Gorman, currently Deputy Superintendent at Grand Rapids Public Schools, has been named Assistant Superintendent of Instructional Services for Kent ISD. Dr. Gorman will serve as the instructional leader for Kent ISD and its member districts where he will oversee Early Childhood, School Improvement, and Teaching and Learning.

With more than 25 years experience as a respected educational leader, Dr. Gorman has served as a classroom teacher, principal, instructional leader, administrator and interim superintendent at Grand Rapids Public Schools.

“Ron Gorman truly believes in the great work happening at Kent ISD and has the background, community connections and vision necessary to help us continue and grow that work to lead us into the future,” said Ron Koehler, Kent ISD Superintendent.  Gorman’s official start date is July 1.

Kent ISD also named Dave Rodgers as Assistant Superintendent of Human Resources. Dave is currently serving a similar position at Northville Public Schools.  His career spans 30 years serving as an educator, principal and administrator as well as leading human resources.  He will also start with Kent ISD officially on July 1.
