Behavioral Threat Assessment & Management
Behavioral Threat Assessment and Management (BTAM) is a systematic, evidence-based approach used by multidisciplinary school teams to identify, evaluate, and mitigate potential safety threats. Rather than relying on automatic discipline or expulsion, the BTAM framework focuses on preventing targeted school violence by prioritizing early intervention, student support, and positive behavioral strategies.
Training
Kent ISD offers initial and refresher BTAM training to support this work. More information can be found in our PD Hub.
