Mental Health Crisis Preparedness & Response

When a school faces a traumatic crisis—such as a natural disaster, sudden loss, or violence—the emotional impact can be profound. School mental health crisis preparedness and response acts as a psychological safety plan to protect the mind just as physical plans protect the body. Operating under a multi-tiered system, it ensures schools are ready to deploy trained response teams, stabilize the environment through immediate triage and communication, and monitor the community afterward to connect vulnerable individuals with long-term mental health resources.
