Cedar Springs Public Schools

Strong Schools, Strong Communities

Ceder Springs Public Schools is located within the city limits of Cedar Springs in Kent County Michigan and part of the Kent Intermediate School District (KISD) serving students in grades pre-kindergarten through 12. We are unique in the fact that the majority of the schools are located on a campus setting with the exception of the Middle School which is located one mile south of the main campus. The setting is secure, picturesque, and allows easy access for families participating in activities for more than one child. Our school mascot is a Red Hawk and our colors are red, black and white.

District Mission

Cedar Springs Public Schools is a welcoming, inclusive educational environment where students are challenged to reach their potential, and are prepared for life beyond school.

Career Learning

We offer career and technical coursework through the Kent Career Tech Center and Kent Innovation High. Our district offers an Early Middle College program where students can earn up to 62 transferable college credits toward their undergraduate degree and/or an Associate’s Degree from Grand Rapids Community College. We have added a significant number of new devices in all of our schools for both teachers and students for an enhanced learning experience.

Academics and Beyond

Strong academics are the basis for all of K-12 learning beginning with literacy, mathematics, science and social studies. In addition to these areas, we engage students with a wide range of courses including advanced placement, world languages, health and physical education, business and technology and visual, performing or applied arts. Cedar Springs offers a wide range of activities including sports, band, student council, Future Farmers of America, theater and other student lead clubs.

Support for Students

We work hard to support students so they succeed, including hiring the best staff to assist them. In addition, we have several programs and partnerships in our community including Reading Now Network and a health clinic offering medical, dental and behavioral services to students right on our campus.

Early Childhood

Early childhood is a crucial time in children's lives, a time when they engage in the world around them and learn all the basics they'll use in school and beyond.  Our Great Start Readiness Preschool programs help children prepare for school success by providing them with reading tutors.
