WELCOME TO

ADULT EDUCATION

The Kent ISD Adult Education Program is committed to providing comprehensive support that is responsive to the educational needs of the adult learner. Our goal is to provide each student with an academic program of excellence in a learner-centered, cohesive, and supportive environment. Participants will encounter a program of integrated services that extends beyond the classroom in providing opportunities for career readiness, professional advancement, citizenship, family literacy, and more.

English as a Second Language (ESL)

English language classes for individuals whose native language is not English. Ranging from beginning to advanced, ESL instruction provides students with the opportunity to refine communication skills needed in the workplace, home and in day to day activities.

High School Equivelency (GED)

The General Education Development (GED) program offers students the opportunity to earn their high school equivelency certificate. Learning in both an instructional and computer based setting, students will prepare for the 4 GED subject tests: Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies.

Adult Basic Education (Pre-GED)

Pre-GED classes are directed towards improving literacy and basic math skills. This class serves students interested in improving their work place employablity and those interested in improving  proficiency levels for enrollment in the GED Preparation class.
