Frequently Asked Questions
How do I use this site?
Use this virtual tour to explore our numerous Kent ISD programs and one of them is the right fit for you.
How do I get a credit visit for this virtual tour?
You must complete this survey after "touring" the site in order to get credit for your visit. Completing this visit gives current 10th and 11th graders priority when applying for programs over students who haven't completed a visit.
What is my next step after completing the survey?
If you are interested in a program, tell your school counselor so they can submit an application for you.
Note: Applying does not guarantee a spot because acceptance is determined by a lottery system. However, completing the survey gives you priority over applicants who haven't completed a visit.
What grade do I have to be eligible to attend a Kent ISD program?
You must be an incoming 11th or 12th grader.
When will I find out if I got into a program?
Students are notified in the spring if they have been accepted into a program for the upcoming school year.
What if I can’t decide which program is right for me?
If you completed the virtual tour survey and still aren't sure, talk to your counselor about attending a Pathway Visit or an Open House.
Will I get to visit the program?
Yes! You have two ways to visit:
- Open House: Anyone can stop by our Open House on February 3rd and 4th from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM to check out the facilities and learn more.
- Acceptance Day: If you are accepted into a program, you will be invited to Acceptance Day. You'll get to visit your program's classroom, meet instructors, and talk with current students.
When do I attend the program during the school day?
You will split your day between your home high school and one of our Kent ISD locations. Your schedule depends on which session you are enrolled in:
- 1st Session: 6:55 AM – 9:10 AM
- 2nd Session: 9:15 AM – 11:30 AM
- 3rd Session: 12:00 PM – 2:15 PM
What happens in the fall if I come and don’t like my program? Can I switch programs?
Because our waitlists are very long, the chances of switching to a different program during the school year are extremely low. It is very important to make sure you select the right program and session on your application. If space is unavailable, you will have to wait until the next school year to change programs.
