About KEC Beltline
KEC Beltline is a dual program offering students a high school level education as well as preparing them for the world of work. The goal of KECB is to ensure that all students reach their educational goals by either receiving a diploma or transitioning into employment and becoming a productive member within the global community they live in.

Principal - Jim Polasek
Get to know our principal
Jim has been in education for 31 years and held various positions from teaching to administration. He holds two Master’s Degrees and is in the process of finishing a doctoral program in 2019.
Jim’s educational profession started by teaching in Detroit Public schools for three years before moving to the west side of the state to work as a teacher consultant for Vicksburg Community Schools for four years. He then took a teaching position with Grand Rapids Public Schools and held many positions with this school district which including: Special Education Teacher, Middle School Principal, Elementary School Principal, District Special Education Supervisor, Central Office Compliance Coordinator/Assistant Special Education Director, and finally Principal of KEC Beltline.
Jim has a passion for working with students to help them achieve their goals in life and become productive members of society. He strives to equip his staff to prepare students for the next phase of their lives, whether that is college or the work force.
Jim’s vision for this program is to ensure that all students reach their educational goals by either receiving a diploma or transitioning into the world of work and becoming a productive member within the global community they live in.
