Early Literacy
Recently, the MI Legislature enacted House Bill #4822 to address and improve third grade reading proficiency for all students in the state. As a result, a team from Kent ISD has been working with local district administrators and staff representing general education, special education and Title I services to provide support and resources to parents and teachers.

Additional Guidance – Wayne RESA has recently completed their guidance document regarding the Third Grade Reading Law. It is an extremely thorough document and includes additional examples of Read-At-Home plans that have been translated in Arabic, Hmong, Spanish, and Vietnamese.
