Kent ISD Logo Safe Protected Connected

In June of 2020, Kent ISD started planning for the 2020-2021 school year. We are focused on three themes that guided our planning. They are:

  • Safe - Our top priority is student and staff safety.
  • Protected - We are prepared to provide sanitary learning environments and the personal protections needed for everyone.
  • Connected - We encourage regular dialogue between parents and staff on any safety and security issues; we are working to ensure the social and emotional needs of students and staff are addressed; and we are committed to providing online education as necessary to meet the needs of families.

A central component of our planning was regular communication and collaboration with the Kent County Health Department. Our plan was developed based on the latest scientific studies and research on COVID-19 and it is in alignment with the Governor’s MI Safe Schools Return to School Roadmap.
