Homeless Students / McKinney-Vento Grant
Kent ISD is committed to helping our students who are experiencing homelessness. Beginning with the 2011 school year, Kent ISD will coordinate the McKinney-Vento Grant Consortium which will include all of our public school districts and public school academies. Students who are homeless are eligible for services and support through the federal McKinney-Vento Act.
Each public district and public school academy has a homeless liaison who assists students and families with school enrollment, academic support, and ongoing needs.
