Kent ISD is committed to providing a variety of career development and planning resources to local school district staff, students and parents through our Career Readiness Team. All resources are designed to help students successfully prepare for their post secondary goals through creating, updating and maintaining their Educational Development Planning (EDP).
Services currently offered to all school districts in Kent County are:
- Professional Development training workshops for the web-based EDP and career planning program,Career Cruising
- Site license purchase of Career Cruising for use in middle and high schools.
- Career Development Facilitator training for all staff engaged in delivering career information to students.
- EDP resources for parent, staff and student use
- Monthly Career Development Networking meetings in which all School Counselors, School-to-Career Coordinators, Work-based Learning Coordinators and building administrators are welcome to attend
- Internship coordination and placement for Health Sciences and Arts & Communications Pathways
- Materials (posters, pamphlets, CDs) promoting career and post-secondary planning
- Career Development Curriculum Resources K-12
- WorkKeys Assessments for students
- Aeronautics Education Laboratory (AEL)
- Michigan Comprehensive Guidance & Counseling Program Model training
