Free haircuts at North!
On April 26, North Godwin had its first of many free haircut days. A wonderful hairstylist from Hairmasters Salon volunteered her time and skills to give free haircuts to our students. We will be having more haircut days soon with hairstylists from Exclusive Hair Design and Silhouettes Hair Design, both locally owned salons. Hopefully our haircut days will continue each month!

North Godwin is Beating the Odds
In April, North Godwin was named by the MIchigan Department of Education as one of 20 Michigan schools that is Beating the Odds! These are schools that "are finding ways to overcome the identifiable risk factors to low student achievement, such as low economic status, race and ethnicity, or proficiency with the English language. North Godwin and the Dispelling the Myth Award
North Godwin was featured in the Grand Rapids Press and on Michigan Radio for being the only school in Michigan to have received the Dispelling the Myth Award from The Education Trust. This award is given to high-achieving schools in high-poverty, high-minority areas. Sarah Hulett, of Michigan Radio: "Education Trust-Midwest says it's the only high-performing, high-poverty school." What great praise for North Godwin!
