Anya VanElderen, Math Student Support Specialist

Hi! My name is Anya Van Elderen, and I am the Math Student Support Specialist at the Kent Transition Center. I support students in developing the math skills that they need for their career and everyday life.  Money, measurement, fractions, and personal finances are some of the skills that we focus on at KTC.

I have been at KTC since 2014. I have worked in education since 2005, including working as a Bilingual Paraprofessional, an elementary ELL Teacher, and an Adult ESL and GED Instructor. I enjoy helping students understand the parts of different concepts and then seeing them apply those concepts to their lives.  The Transition Center provides students with many opportunities to do this!

Some other things I enjoy are reading, playing soccer, kayaking, and traveling.
