Special Education

Approximately 14,500 students with disabilities are served by Kent ISD's 20 local school districts, 23 public school academies and 62 nonpublic schools. Collaborative supports, guidance, resources and technical assistance is provided by Kent ISD to assist with professional development, program development, parent support, technology and legal requirements to ensure the individual unique needs of all students is addressed. 

Kent ISD provides special education services such as Assistive Technology, Transition, Multi-Tier System of Supports (Behavior, Literacy and Math), Visual Impairment and Physical Therapy services to students across the county. We also provide resources and information for parents, families and community agencies.

Support Group for parents of children with Autism
The ASD Parent Support Group meeting will be held on Monday, November 23rd, and we have been invited to hold our meeting at Family Tree Therapies. Our private parent support group meeting will be held from 6:30 until 7:00 pm, and then from 7:00 until 8:30 pm, we are happy to have as our hosts and guest speakers, Stacy Pulley, Speech Language Pathologist and Terri Cooper, Occupational Therapist, partners and co-owners of Family Tree Therapies. Stacy and Terri will give a presentation on "Positive Discipline”.
