Special Education

 

Approximately 14, 500 students with disabilities are served by Kent ISD's 20 local school districts, 24 public school academies and 62 nonpublic schools. Collaborative supports, guidance, resources and technical assistance is provided by Kent ISD to assist with professional development, program development, parent support, technology and legal requirements to ensure the individual unique needs of all students is addressed.

Kent ISD provides special education services such as Assistive Technology, Transition, Multi-Tiered System of Supports (Behavior, Literacy and Math), Visual Impairment and Physical Therapy services to students across the county. The Kent ISD also provides Early Childhood supports and early interventions through our Early On, Bright Beginnings and Great Start Readiness Programs.
