EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY PLAN

To receive Ed Tech funds, grant money or E-rate reimbursement on Priority 2, an eligible applicant must have a new or updated Educational Technology Plan that reflects the statewide technology plan including statutory local plan requirements. Listed are the districts within Kent ISD who's technology plans are due to expire June 30, 2011

Technology plans must meet certain criteria and connect the technology plan's physical structure to the district's overall improvement objectives for education or library service improvement.

Establishes clear goals and realistic strategies
Include professional development strategies to assist staff on the use of new technology
Include an assessment component of the hardware, software, telecommunication services, and other services
Provide an adequate budget for acquiring andmaintaining hardware, software, professional development, and other services
Include an evaluation process for monitoring and implementing mid-course changes

As an ISD technology plan reviewer for Kent ISD, I provide assistance to districts and schools with the process of submitting new and revised technology plans through MDE's - MEGS.

KENT ISD GRANT INFORMATION RESOURCE

Angela Morris is the Grant Writer for Kent ISD. Primarily she writes large, initiative-wide grants that are consistent with the Superintendent's Initiatives. Angie is also available to provide technicial assistance and help to local school districts on finding funding and resources to support education. She does this in a number of ways-

Writes a weekly e-newsletter that features grants and other funding opportunities, focusing on smaller classroom and building level grants and ones that should be fairly uncomplicated application procedures. To subscribe click on this link
Does grant research on specific topics as requested.
Will read and edit drafts of grant proposals before the final copy is mailed out.
Teaches Grant Writing workshops and provides other fundraising trainings for educators and others including local PTA members. Look for upcoming training dates and locations in the weekly e-newsletter.
Convenes a networking group of local School Foundation folks. The group meets about four times a year and share information of interest to local school foundations.
Have pulled together local school district and other state ISD grant writers to share information.
