EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY PLAN

To receive Ed Tech funds,  grant money or E-rate reimbursement on Priority 2, an eligible applicant must have a new or updated Educational Technology Plan that reflects the statewide technology plan including statutory local plan requirements. Listed are the districts within Kent ISD who's technology plans are due to expire June 30, 2011

Technology plans must meet certain criteria and connect the technology plan's physical structure to the district's overall improvement objectives for education or library service improvement.

  • Establishes clear goals and realistic strategies
  • Include professional development strategies to assist staff on the use of new technology
  • Include an assessment component of the hardware, software, telecommunication services,  and other services
  • Provide an adequate budget for acquiring andmaintaining hardware, software, professional development, and other services
  • Include an evaluation process for monitoring and implementing mid-course changes

As an ISD technology plan reviewer for Kent ISD, I provide assistance to districts and schools with the process of submitting new and revised technology plans through MDE's - MEGS.
