Green Schools Chairman’s Award

The Kent County Board of Commissioners seeks to recognize major efforts and projects of an entire school district with a special Chairman’s Award to be given at our Green Schools Award Ceremony.  This award (or awards) will be given to districts completing significant energy savings programs. Examples include district-wide efforts to eliminate electricity waste and abuse by turning off lights and equipment when not in use, installing temperature and/or light sensors to detect when a room is occupied, or reducing fuel costs by eliminating bus idling or improving vehicle fuel efficiency.

If your district has completed this type of project and would like to be considered for a Chairman’s Award, please email us your project details and be sure to include the following:

  • District name
  • Key players
  • Project name
  • Short project description
  • Description of results
  • Description of documents available for verification
  • Description of how your school has changed as a result of the project effors
