Bus Transportation
School Bus Driver Safety Education Classes
The Kent Intermediate School District (KISD) operates a Transportation Training Agency certified by the Michigan Department of Education (MDE) to provide state mandated bus driver certification classes for public and private schools operating within Kent and Ionia counties.
Beginning School Bus Driver Training
Training at Kent ISD is typically scheduled for 5 days (evenings) over a two week period. Tuesday, Wednesday & Thursday evening the 1st week and Tuesday and Thursday evening the following week from 6:00 pm to 9:30 pm unless otherwise indicated.
An enrollment form must be completed and signed by the transportation supervisor for each school bus driver attending a training session. Please fill out the form below and mail or fax to the attention of Joyce Robrahn.

Advanced School Bus Driver Training
Mandated School Bus Driver Continuing Education classes are now closed and will not reopen until the next Michigan Department of Education training cycle. We anticipate offering classes during Summer, 2012. Please check our website for class updates.
Transportation Supervisors
Mandated Transportation Supervisor Training - The Michigan Department of Education has separated Transportation Supervisor training into two segments. Two hours shall be taken in 2011 and four hours in 2012 to be eligible for a supervisor card. Please watch our web site for 2012 class dates.
The Transportation Supervisor 2 hour trainig sessions were held on August 3rd and August 9th. Contact John Savage if you were not able to attend one of these sessions. An on-line make-sup session is now available. We are planning on having the 4 hour session classes on the following dates at Kent ISD:
Tuesday March 20th from 8:00 am to 12:30 - Grand Room at Kent ISD
Wednesday March 28th from 8:00 am to 12:30 - Grand Room Kent ISD
Monday April 23rd from 8:00 am to 12.30 - Grand Room Kent ISD
