Kelloggsville Student Art on Display at Kent ISD
KELLOGGSVILLE STUDENTS PUT FINE ART
SKILLS ON DISPLAY AT KENT ISD
GRAND RAPIDS – Fine art from Kelloggsville Public Schools artists is now on view at Kent ISD. Paintings, drawings and pastels can be viewed in the lobby at 2930 Knapp NE during business hours through January 8.
The student artists are in grades six through twelve, taught by Kelloggsville Public Schools’ art teachers Rene Jones, Amy O’Neill, Donna Casmere Lyle and Robert Fron. “Art in our district focuses on encouraging and discovering the creative potential and gifts we all possess,” says Casmere Lyle.
The Kelloggsville Public School’s art display is one of a series during the year from schools within Kent ISD. Other districts with lobby displays this year include East Grand Rapids High School, and Byron Center West Middle School. Caledonia High School will have a display in January, followed by Thornapple Kellogg in February.
Kent ISD also participates in Representative Vern Ehlers’ annual Congressional Arts Competition, serving as local judges and occasionally offering purchase awards to student winners.
