Caledonia Student Art on Display at Kent ISD
GRAND RAPIDS – Digital art from Caledonia High School artists is now on view at Kent ISD. Colorful and creative photography and computer generated art can be viewed in the lobby at 2930 Knapp NE during business hours through February 10.
The student artists are in Advanced Placement art classes, taught by Caledonia High School art teacher Mike Cornell. “We’re here to mentor and coach our students from the sidelines. We offer guidance and support while allowing them to follow their own creative interests,” says Cornell. The Caledonia High School art display is one of a series during the year from schools within Kent ISD. Other districts with lobby displays include Thornapple Kellogg, East Kentwood High School and Plymouth Christian High School. Grandville High School student work will be on display in February.
Kent ISD also participates in Representative Vern Ehlers’ annual Congressional Arts Competition, serving as local judges and occasionally offering purchase awards to student winners.
